Internet plays a large role in many aspects of day-to-day life; people today want to be able to stay connected to the world at all times, no matter whether they are going to the spa or having a barbecue. Therefore, in addition to provide guests with easy access to WLAN capabilities in their rooms, the chosen network infrastructure needed to be fully integrated in order to deliver seamless mobile connectivity throughout the resort.

After thorough evaluation, 4ipnet WLAN solution was specifically selected because its technology is well suited to the challenges associated with a resort that requires coverage and high capacity. The EAP737 is a concurrent dual-band 802.11ac wave 2 indoor access point, featuring two 2x2:2 MU-MIMO radios that can each transmit data to multiple clients simultaneously and together have a combined data rate of up to 1.2 Gbps. The full 802.11ac technology substantially improves overall network throughput and provides the resort with optimal wireless connectivity.

To better manage the comprehensive network, WHG325 WLAN controller was selected. The WHG325 is capable of managing up to 80 EAP/OWL-series wireless access points and can be directly integrated with Oracle Opera PMS System. 4ipnet has taken the Oracle Opera PMS interface and integrated it directly on the WHG-series, becoming one of the only WLAN solutions on the market to offer the PMS interface directly in the same box together with AP management, user authentication and user policy enforcement. This design allows the resort to significantly reduce initial infrastructure investment without sacrificing any of the functionality.

On top of that, the WHG325 service zone feature allows a single WHG controller to simulate multiple independent virtual networks, each with their own user roles, schedule-based access policies and customized login pages. With this architecture, the resort is able to offer Wi-Fi service tailored for individual user groups and to manage the network more effectively and efficiently.
