Branch Network Management with 4ipnet Enterprise Wi-Fi Solution
With BYOD assuming its role as an industry standard, enterprises are now facing new challenges on how to manage their wireless networks, let alone the centralized management of branch offices. However, 4ipnet solution for enterprises provides a secure and reliable Wi-Fi with unified BYOD policies. A large Japanese company which has over 40 branch offices in Japan is having a pressing need to improve their network security, centralize management, and control the costs of branch networking.
To fulfill the branch networking requirements, 4ipnet’s WHG Controllers were deployed at the enterprise headquarter with 2+1 High Availability for seamless network service and 1,250 pieces of 4ipnet’s APs were deployed at over 40 branch offices. By building complete tunnels between the APs and the WHG Controller, network administrators can ensure that all sites have the same user policies and network resource access.
Robust Design with 2+1 High Availability :
4ipnet’s WHG gateway-controller can be attached to two WAN links from separate ISPs for redundancy and load balancing purposes. Besides, the entire system can be deployed in High Availability, mitigating the potential lost productivity in the event of network downtime. And with the ability to configure backup AP management controllers for remotely managed APs, network administrators can guarantee seamless network operation and management.
Flexible Tunnel Configuration:
4ipnet allows network operators to independently configure tunneling between the remote APs and the central WHG gateway-controller to fulfill specific security and performance requirements. For corporate employees requiring stricter security, all of the data traffic can be tunneled back to the gateway in the headquarters for unified policy enforcement.

Managing SDS200W on the Web Management Interface SDS200W is designed specifically to operate in conjunction with all 4ipnet Gateways/Controllers, including both HSG and WHG series. If you are not using default settings, before connecting SDS200W to your 4ipnet Gateway/Controller, some configurations steps are required.
Go to the Web Management Interface (WMI) for SDS200W’s relevant configurations. The default values are:
IP address: 192.168.1.10
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.254
Remember to set the TCP/IP settings of the computer you use with a static IP address that is under the same subnet
as SDS200W. For example: 192.168.1.20.
The settings of SDS200W are separated into seven categories, which are
1. System – to setup the system name and device control.
2. Uplink – to determine wired / wireless relevant parameters. Any change on this page will take
effect after rebooting the system.

security and access policies. However, this also increases bandwidth
consumption and latency, decreasing overall network performance. With
4ipnet’s solution, you now have a compromise. Different tunnel types can be
configured independently for each SSID, providing maximum deployment flexibility.
For instance, the employee SSID can continue to tunnel all the traffic back to
the controller, while the guest SSID can be configured with split tunnel –
tunneling only authentication, management, and accounting traffic back to the
controller, and allowing user data traffic to exit locally to the Internet. With
split tunnel, users get the best network experience, while the company can also
reduce unnecessary bandwidth consumption from users that do not need such tight
